A New Self

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." 2 Corinthians 5:17

"If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set you minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God." Colossians 3:1-3

How often do I forget that I am a new creation! Why do I not live like one? The old, sinful, diseased self is gone! Now I have a Friend who will help me to live in a manner pleasing to the Father. But, why do I continue in my sin? God, help me to put off the things of the flesh and don the things of Christ. Help me to "set my mind on things above." Remind me daily that I have been purchased by you and that I am no longer my own. Give me a passion to glorify you and worship you in all that I do and say. Thank you for your sacrifice.
